Women Changing The Momentum Of Marketing

It lives within her and is a part of everything she does; her feminine qualities. And now these qualities are placing her in a position of authority.  The power of women is on the rise as the new economy emerges to showcase what authentically gives her a competitive advantage over men.

The below TED video is an example of how women by simply doing what women do,  seek heartfelt connections…  is creating massive change in traditional marketing.

I love this video and seek your feedback as you witness a cultural transformation in a multi-billion dollar industry spurred by the natural tendencies of women to connect and collaborate.

If you are a women, how does this video make you feel about being a woman? If you are a man, how do the changes of our economy toward more of a woman dominated playing field affect you professionally? Personally?

Please leave a comment below and let me know your thoughts.

Hi Mark, I enjoyed the movie and liked the information about how gender stereotypes are breaking down; how women are more into social media, and how one should be a student of what entertains and impassions our target market. I feel great that women are becoming more of a force for intelligent advertising and values and gaining more respect for being individuals.

Hi Mark, thanks for sharing this Ted video. It is well known that women connect with each other in a far deeper and emotional way then men connect with each other. It is in our DNA and always will be. If the media is going to get our attention, it has to have an emotional as well as visual componet, more fleshed out. It also has to be authentic and have truth and integrity to it. The idea of the media being aimed at women and what we like rather than what the demographic is is refreshing.Being a baby boomer, I understand too easily that we baby boomers are still 60′s and 70′s rockers and refuse to grow old! Being in my 50′s means nothing to me. I don’t feel 50, I don’t think 50 (maybe a bit more wisdom…) and I don’t act 50; at least compared to our parents where they were expected to retire at 65 and go golfing into the sunset. I could easily re-invent myself tomorrow if the right conditions presented it self, as could most women I know. As for social media, I think there would be more splinter groups of women with similar likes and wants creating communities and getting things done. This is an interesting conversation, to be continued.

Mark– This was great! First of all, I love TED and so glad that you are also tuned into it… The speaker was interesting… I was especially surprised about the difference in time spent on social media between men & women. Interesting stuff. Thanks for sharing!
